Devon Environmental Foundation
Devon Environment Foundation (DEF) accelerates nature restoration across Devon by supporting grassroots environmental initiatives. Their varied projects deliver a wide range of impact, including nature-friendly farming, woodland planting, seagrass protection, species reintroductions, river clean-up, and much more. Grassroots nature restoration offers a hopeful, cost-effective response to some of today's greatest challenges – boosting biodiversity, mitigating the effects of climate change, enhancing human health and well-being by reconnecting people with the natural world, and providing a much-needed source of optimism in difficult times.
Food 4 Farmers
Founded in 2011, Food 4 Farmers helps small-scale coffee farming families overcome annual months of food scarcity,
which occur largely due to economic dependence on a single crop: coffee. Their programs are designed in partnership
with farming families and communities to help them become more food secure by increasing the food they grow,
and selling any excess locally. To implement otheir programs, they collaborate with local organizations—typically coffee
cooperatives—to build their capacity to manage this food security work on their own and equip them with the tools,
knowledge and resources they need to build sustainable programs over time.
